NAKSHI KANTHA EXHIBITION BY AARONG | 2008 - নকশী কাঁথা প্রদর্শনী

Fashion House Aarong has organized a nakshi kantha exhibition titled “Story of Stitches” at the National Art Gallery of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in celebration of their 30th anniversary. The exhibition was inaugurated on 15 July 2008.

A group of folk artistes was there to entertain the audience with their music. But the main attraction was a collection of exquisite Nakshi Kantha amassed from different parts of Bangladesh. A set was made were four women demonstrated the art to the audience. Aarong also provided demonstrations of different kinds of stitches called Mushuri Kadam, Moy Par, Jora par, Hashia Taaga, Anas Taaga, Kolshi Par, Phool Par, Borfi Tip Par, Mukta Dana par and more that are used as units of stitches in making the Kanthas.

Using various traditional nakshi kantha motifs, the exhibition features a wide range of products such as saris, shalwar kameez, tagas, shirts, kurtas, shawls, bed sheets, cushion covers, wall hanging tapestries, lampshades and jewelry boxes.

“স্টোরি অফ স্টিচস” শীর্ষক একটি নকশী কাঁথা প্রদর্শনীর আয়োজন করে ফ্যাশন হাউস আড়ং । ৩০ বছর বার্ষিকী উদযাপনের ধারাবাহিকতায় বাংলাদেশ শিল্পকলা একাডেমির জাতীয় আর্ট গ্যালারীটিতে এ প্রদর্শনীর আয়োজন । প্রদর্শনীটি উদ্বোধন করা হয়েছিল ১৫ জুলাই ২০০৮ -এ ।

মূল আকর্ষণ ছিল বাংলাদেশের বিভিন্ন অঞ্চল থেকে সংগৃহীত সুনির্দিষ্ট নকশী কাঁথার একটি সংগ্রহ। একটি সেট তৈরি করা হয়েছিল যেখানে চারজন মহিলা শ্রোতার কাছে এই শিল্পটি প্রদর্শন করেছিলেন।

এছাড়া অনেকগুলি সেলাইয়ের প্রদর্শনীর ব্যবস্থা করেছিল যা নকশী কাঁথা তৈরিতে নকশা হিসাবে ব্যবহৃত হয় যেমন : মুশুরী কদম, ময়ী পার, জোড়া পার, হাশিয়া টাগা, আনাস টাগা, কলশী পার, ফুল পার, বোরফি টিপ পার, মুক্ত দানা পার এবং আরও অনেক ।

প্রদর্শনীতে আগত দর্শনার্থীদের বিনোদন দেওয়ার জন্য লোক সংগীত শিল্পীদের একটি দল সংগীত পরিবেশন করে।

বিভিন্ন ঐতিহ্যবাহী নকশী কাঁথা মোটিফ ব্যবহার শাড়ি, শালওয়ার কামিজ, টাগা, শার্ট, কুর্তা, শালস, বিছানার চাদর, কুশন কভার, দেয়াল ঝুলানো টেপেস্ট্রি, ল্যাম্পশেডস এবং গহনার বাক্স এর মত অনেক ধরনের পন্য তৈরি করেন প্রদর্শনীতে ।
